Mexico Turns to Social Media for Information and Survival
I disagree with the Veracruz’s State Assembly's decision to make the use of Twitter and other social media networks to undermine police public order. That's law is taking away the people's freedom of speech, especially in a country where the media, press, and the police can't be trusted. How will the public be made aware of what is really going on if the main source of information outlets are corrupted? People should not be using social media to provide false information that would insight public scare that might lead to greater tragedy. But in the case on warning people to avoid an area with armed gunmen who are ready to shoot and ask questions later, I support it. That's using to save countless of lives.
New York Times: Facebook
This article talks about Facebook and the many different things it can be used for. The article states that Facebook had gone public on May 2012 and that shares were being sold at ambitious price. One of the many uses for Facebook is to advertise, and I personally don't like all of the advertisement that's going on in Facebook. I log on to Facebook to share certain events and things that goes on in my life, and also to look and see what my friends has been up to. But, when the advertising come on at random and I start to hear audio it makes me feel uneasy. Some of these advertisements should be just on TV, not on a social networking site such as Facebook.
