Writing Good Webtext & Editing Webtext
In writing webtext one must be careful of the what voice to use and when to used it. Some situations will require passive voice while others may require an active voice. Passive voice should not be confused with past tense because they are different, but they can both be used simultaneously to get a point across. When you're editing your web writing it's important to note that the spell checker on your computer is not reliable. Write clearly enough to get your point across an as little amount of words as possible. Be sure to always critique your writing because it will make your writing that much better.

Rational for Ideas
My website will feature a link where people can go to share their recipes because new and amazing dishes are being created on a daily basis. I would also like to have a section where people can write comments about the recipe that's being featured. Also, there will be a link that my site visitors can go to in order to be able to ask questions and I will be providing them with feed-backs. My reasoning for wanting to have all of these features is because I want the people to interact and to feel welcome. But most importantly I want to give them a reason to visit my website again.
Organizing a Website & Focusing your Message
Organizing a website is all about making sure your readers get what they need in a relatively short amount of time. The process of writing requires the writer to cut a lot of information because most of which may not be needed. Only the essential massage need to be stated, some of the detailed information may not be needed because your readers want to get what they want as some as possible. Give as much information as is needed in order to get your point across. When it comes to web writing less is more.

Multimedia Literacy
Overtime our concept of literacy has
been changing as we develop more with technology. Literacy now includes both
words and pictures in the form of multimedia. Now people make exception for multimedia
because it’s becoming part of our daily lives.
The Principles of Design
There are principles to designing a
website. According to McClurg-Genevese’s, the principles of design involves balance,
rhythm, proportion, dominance, and unity. The successful use of these core
ideas will give the website a solid foundation that it can thrive on. The
design of a website should have balance which comes in the form of asymmetrical
and symmetrical. The article clarifies some of the key components that are involved
in designing a good website.
Writing for the Web
In writing for the web there are many
guidelines and rules that an author must adhere to. The writer has to choose a
style that will be most effective in getting the message across to the
audience. When writing for the web the author has to be mindful of whom the
audiences are. The author has to be willing to write at a level that the
audience will comprehend. A writer will need to have a purpose for creating the
website that he/she will create. Last but not least, a writer has to try and
avoid the common problems that may arise in writing.

Texting and Driving Worse Than Drinking and Driving
When you're out on the road driving, the only task you should be focusing on is the driving itself. Research has showed that texting while driving is worse than drinking while driving. That should be reason enough to stop people from making the decision to text while driving; but it isn't and that makes me sick to my stomach. Some drivers who are wise enough to not text while driving and they sometimes have to pay the ultimate price because of a person who decide to not be as wise, and that's a real misfortune.
How texting is wrecking our language!
Texting is fun easy and convenient. But I have to agree with John Humphry's about the side effects that it's having on the English language. Reputable table readings such as the Oxford English Dictionary should not be changing it's format of how some English word are written, in order to appeal to the new generation of texters. It's good to be able to enjoy new technologies and to create short cuts that makes life easier. Changing to English language itself to make it easier on texters is taking it "too far".

Is my Smartphone Making me Dumb?
There is no conclusive research to show that Smartphones are making people dumb. Smartphones contribute to making people feel smart in many different ways. A perfect example would be reading of a word that you don't know the meaning of and just pulling out your phone to look it up. In the matter of seconds you end up finding the answer to you question making you feel that much more smart. Devices such as Smartphones does allow us to partake in multitasking in a more modern fashion. But as Bell stated people has been multitasking since before the invention of Smartphones and will continue to do so.

Mexico Turns to Social Media for Information and Survival
I disagree with the Veracruz’s State Assembly's decision to make the use of Twitter and other social media networks to undermine police public order. That's law is taking away the people's freedom of speech, especially in a country where the media, press, and the police can't be trusted. How will the public be made aware of what is really going on if the main source of information outlets are corrupted? People should not be using social media to provide false information that would insight public scare that might lead to greater tragedy. But in the case on warning people to avoid an area with armed gunmen who are ready to shoot and ask questions later, I support it. That's using to save countless of lives.
New York Times: Facebook
This article talks about Facebook and the many different things it can be used for. The article states that Facebook had gone public on May 2012 and that shares were being sold at ambitious price. One of the many uses for Facebook is to advertise, and I personally don't like all of the advertisement that's going on in Facebook. I log on to Facebook to share certain events and things that goes on in my life, and also to look and see what my friends has been up to. But, when the advertising come on at random and I start to hear audio it makes me feel uneasy. Some of these advertisements should be just on TV, not on a social networking site such as Facebook.
